Education And Intelligence Are Not The Same!

I have come to discover that there is so much confusion in the world today about education and intelligence.

A lot of people have equated intelligence with education.
The belief of such people is that once you are educated, it automatically means you are intelligent and smart. Hmmmn! How wrong they are!
The absolute truth is that education is not the same as intelligence. In fact, they are miles apart.
I have met a lot of educated fools and I have also met a lot of intelligent illiterate people.
Education can be referred to as knowledge acquired in formal learning environments, such as schools, academies, institutes, etc while Intelligence is the actual capacity to learn(formally or informally), acquire, assimilate, and make proper use of knowledge.
The wrong concept that education equals intelligence has been pushed on us so hard that few people ever get totally past it, even as they grow older.
The truth is that you can be highly Intelligent without being highly educated and you can be highly educated without being highly intelligent.
I have had the opportunity of meeting people that did very poorly in school. I mean people you can refer to as average students or even below average while in school, but when it comes to learning anything that they don’t associate with school, they learn very fast, much faster than normal.
Don't ever judge a person's intelligence by his or her education or by their performance while they were in school.
I have discovered from careful observation that people of well above average intelligence can sometimes do poorly in school due to several reasons such as boredom, lack of motivation, distraction, lack of concentration, etc.
I have also met and interacted with people with advanced academic degrees, including doctorates, who are of no more than average intelligence. This is not a bad thing though… they have shown that they are willing to put in the time and effort to master something that does not come easy to them. It does also show, however, that higher education is not necessarily proof of higher intelligence.
This post is not meant to denigrate education or to water down the value of getting a good education. It is just to lay emphasis on making sure that your education leads to intelligence and to also stress the fact that lack of education does not automatically reduce your intelligence if you choose to work on yourself.
Education is not equal to intelligence, though it is often used as an external measure of it.
Don't just collect your academic certificate after three, four, five, or six years of study and believe that you have arrived. The truth is that you have just started and may never arrive.
Education stops once you get out of the four walls of the college, polytechnic, or university but learning never stops. Education may be time-bound but learning is continuous.
Work assiduously towards developing your mind if you are serious about being relevant in life.
If care is not taken, with your level of education, you may end up working under or for someone who is not as educated as you are but far more intelligent than you are simply because he or she has not stopped learning.
I don't know if I have made little sense to someone this morning.
