How to Deal with People Without Losing Your Mind
If we are honest, human beings are like a curriculum from God.
Some teach you patience.
Some teach you silence.
And some… will have you praying, “Lord, give me strength not to react!”
Yet, the truth remains: you can’t fulfill your destiny without people. Even Jesus needed disciples… and one still betrayed Him!
So, how do you relate with people without losing your mind? Let’s gist 👇
1. Use Discernment, Not Just Your Eyes
Not everyone who calls you “bro” or “sis” is sent from heaven.
Some were sent from the ministry of confusion!
Proverbs 12:26: “The righteous choose their friends carefully.”
Discernment saves you from unnecessary drama.
2. Love Everybody, But Don’t Trust Everybody
Love is a command. Trust is a privilege.
Jesus loved all, but He didn’t take all to the Mount of Transfiguration!
Be kind but guard your heart; it is not a bus stop.
3. Stop Fighting to Be Liked
You are not jollof rice not everyone will like you!
Even God, with all His goodness, has haters.
So, stop explaining yourself; those who matter don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter.
4. Correct With Love, Not Pride 💬
Don’t correct just to prove you’re right correct because you care.
You can win the argument and lose the relationship. That is not wisdom.
5. Know When to Step Aside Gracefully
Sometimes peace is better than being right.
Abraham separated from Lot, and his destiny became clearer.
Some relationships expire don’t resurrect them out of sentiment.
6. Be Humble, But Don’t Be a Mumu
Humility is not foolishness.
Be gentle, but don’t let people play table tennis with your emotions.
Matthew 10:16: “Be wise as serpents, harmless as doves.”
Final Word:
You can’t control people’s attitude, but you can control your reaction.
Wisdom in relationships isn’t pretending; it’s knowing when to talk, when to walk, and when to pray.
If you’ve learned to love people and keep your sanity, congratulations you’ve passed Relationship 101 in the University of Life. Some are still carrying it over!
