Free PR for Global Powers? Nigerians, Let’s Talk.
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of scrolling… and honestly, I don’t know whether to laugh, cry, or just log out completely.
Because how is it that suddenly, some of the most “learned Nigerians” I know have transformed into full-time international war analysts overnight?
One minute, they’re minding their business. The next minute, they’re breaking down global conflicts like they’re sitting inside some high-level war room.
And what’s even more interesting?
When the USA makes a move, it’s:
“Strategic.”
“Necessary.”
“For global stability.”
But when another country like Iran defends its own territory, it suddenly becomes:
“Aggression.”
“A threat to peace.”
“Unacceptable.”
And I just sit there like… wait… what kind of logic is this exactly? π
The Sudden Concern for Nigeria
Now here’s where it gets even more funny.
Out of nowhere, the conversation shifts. Suddenly, people start pushing narratives about religious crisis in Nigeria. Heavy propaganda. Emotional takes. Strong opinions.
And somehow the USA is now being painted as this caring, concerned big brother that just wants peace for Nigeria.
At that point, I had to pause again.
Because… since when?
Since when did global powers become emotionally invested in solving our internal problems out of pure love and kindness?
Let’s be honest with ourselves for a second.
This Is Not a Movie Plot It’s Strategy
My people, shine your eyes.
What we’re seeing is not random. It’s no coincidence. And it’s definitely not some innocent sequence of events.
This is strategy.
It’s like a chess game calculated, patient, and intentional. Moves are made far in advance, narratives are shaped carefully, and reactions are predicted before they even happen.
Tension is created.
Narratives are pushed.
Sides are formed.
Then suddenly, the same forces positioning themselves as “saviours” appear.
And the most shocking part?
Some of us are out here doing free PR for them.
Defending positions we don’t fully understand.
Amplifying narratives we didn’t question.
Choosing sides in conflicts that don’t even see us as players just pawns at best.
Are We Thinking or Just Reacting?
This is not about supporting one country or attacking another.
It’s about thinking.
It’s about asking:
Who benefits from this narrative?
Why is this story being pushed this way?
What am I not being told?
Because not everything that trends is truth.
Not everything that sounds intelligent is actually wise.
And not everyone who sounds “informed” has done the work to understand the full picture.
At this point, I’m honestly just asking a simple question:
Am I the only one seeing the handwriting on the wall?
Or have some people decided to completely take off their glasses and just vibe with whatever narrative is loudest? π
Because if we’re not careful, we’ll keep arguing passionately about issues we don’t control while the real game continues quietly in the background.
And trust me…
In that game, nobody is clapping for us.
