The Man, The Time

If a smile would hitch me a ride

If a fight could win me a bride

If a cry would save ma hideous hide

If light could keep this "righteous blind"

If a mile would do for the slide

If a kite could do the glide

Maybe the gentle sky would stem this tumultuous tide

Maybe its deceptively alluring sight won't leave me fried

If this rising bile would stay deep inside

So this delicious bite can be an elixir for my mind

Maybe then I could be right and not so wild

Perhaps I would then win back my little pride

If I could change the hands of time

If I could change the fortune of these times

But I am the Man that I am,

Living the times that I am
