YOU REALLY NEED PEOPLE
I have come to discover that apart from the grace of God; about 85% of your success in life is going to be determined by your social skills.
By your social skills, I mean your ability to interact positively and effectively with others and to get them to cooperate with you to achieve your goals, dreams, and visions.
It is a colossal error for you to believe that it's only God you need to succeed in life and you won't need people.
You don't have to be dependent on people but you still need them all the same. I believe it will interest you to know that God works through people virtually all the time. So there is no way you won't have to deal with people.
Take note that occasions that enable you to interact with people, especially remarkable people, are opportunities for you to succeed in life because everything you need to succeed is in people and requires people's ideas, money, contacts, encouragement, mentoring, etc.
No man is an island. There are no self-made achievers or millionaires. There is no such thing as a self-made man. We are made up of thousands of others.
Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us or spoken a word of encouragement to us has entered into the make-up of our character and our thoughts, as well as our success.
You will need other people's input to succeed in life. Hence, the more people you know and the more people who know you in a positive way go a long way to determine how successful you will become in life.
You are a successful businessman or woman because you have customers patronizing your business. You are a successful salesman because you have clients. You are a successful author because people are buying or reading your books. You are a successful minister of God because you have people that believe in the call of God upon your life and are committed to your ministry. It's all about people.
It is not angels that will buy your books. It is not angels that will order those products you are selling. It is not angels that will request your services. It is not angels that will join your church or ministry as members or workers and neither will they be your financial partners. It is people that will do all these.
Without a doubt, your relationships are your greatest assets. So, developing good interpersonal skills, and people skills that will enable you to get along with people and ultimately result in effective and productive relationships is paramount if you aim to achieve resounding success.
Prayer for success is good but it is nothing but a fruitless activity if you don't take the time to develop your relationship skills.
You need people! People also need you!
I hope I have made a little sense o!
