When Life Punishes the Kind
I once read about a young woman who gave her whole life to God.
She grew up modest, kept herself pure, and waited until marriage to have children.
She did everything right everything she was taught to do.
But her story didn’t end the way she hoped.
Her husband cheated on her, beat her, and infected her with HIV.
Can you imagine? After all that faith, all that patience, all that obedience life still broke her heart.
Then there was a man who spent his years caring for orphans, feeding the hungry and giving everything he had to others. He was selfless. Kind. Devoted.
But cancer took him and it didn’t even give him time to fight back.
He too did everything right… yet life turned its back on him.
And there are so many stories like these.
People who pray, who love deeply, who live right yet still end up in pain.
That’s why we should never be quick to judge anyone.
We don’t know their battles, their heartbreaks, or the paths they’ve had to walk.
Some are judged for getting divorced.
Some for battling addiction.
Some for not having children, or for not getting along with their families.
But if only we knew their story… if only we saw their scars… we’d understand.
The truth is, no matter how righteous we try to be,
we are never really in control.
Life has a way of humbling us of reminding us that anything can change in a moment.
So instead of judging, let’s learn to show more compassion.
More grace.
More love.
Because sometimes, even the purest hearts are the ones that bleed the most.
Oh this hit ! I struggle with how much I tried to do things right and still the outcome is not anything near to what you'd think if trying. It doesn't always matter how right , good, fair , giving you are . It just doesn't. I'm still very glad I did the things I did to try and do right ....I can look back and say I tried at least . Their are many stories that make a person wonder why some things happen to really good people .
