YOU REALLY NEED PEOPLE

I have come to discover that apart from the grace of God; about 85% of your success in life is going to be determined by your social skills. By your social skills, I mean your ability to interact positively and effectively with others and to get them to cooperate with you to achieve your goals, dreams, and visions. Learning to develop and maintain superior human relationships can do more for your career, business, ministry and for your personal life than probably almost anything else you can accomplish. It is a colossal error for you to believe that it's only God you need to succeed in life and you won't need people. You don't have to be dependent on people but you still need them all the same. I believe it will interest you to know that God works through people virtually all the time. So there is no way you won't have to deal with people. Take note that occasions that enable you to interact with people, especially remarkable people, are opportunities for you to succeed...

THEY ARE WAITING FOR YOU!

I have a word for someone reading this post. The world is waiting for you. Yes, the world is indeed waiting for what you can offer. Everyone in this world has something to give to this world that otherwise cannot be provided. This is a truth that must be known and believed by every living soul. I have always wondered what would have happened to our modern world if Alexander Graham Bell had not discovered the telephone in him, if the Wright brothers had died with the airplane in them or if William Shakespeare had refused to release the books in him. Someone invented the car we drive today, discovered and harnessed the electricity we are using today, invented the various machinery in our industries, and invented the computer that has become an integral part of our lives today. Someone discovered the chair in the tree and gold in the dust. Someone fought against slavery, racism, injustice, and colonialism. Some people fought for the independence your country is enjoying today. Some people...

Education And Intelligence Are Not The Same!

I have come to discover that there is so much confusion in the world today about education and intelligence. A lot of people have equated intelligence with education. The belief of such people is that once you are educated, it automatically means you are intelligent and smart. Hmmmn! How wrong they are! The absolute truth is that education is not the same as intelligence. In fact, they are miles apart. I have met a lot of educated fools and I have also met a lot of intelligent illiterate people. Education can be referred to as knowledge acquired in formal learning environments, such as schools, academies, institutes, etc while Intelligence is the actual capacity to learn(formally or informally), acquire, assimilate, and make proper use of knowledge. The wrong concept that education equals intelligence has been pushed on us so hard that few people ever get totally past it, even as they grow older. The truth is that you can be highly Intelligent without being highly educated and you can ...

BRING DOWN YOUR SHOULDERS, SIR/MA

I have come to realize that pride is nothing but the result of ignorance. If you see any man or woman walking in pride, they are simply displaying their lack of knowledge. If you are not ignorant as a proud person, you will definitely know that whatever is making you proud is not yours, to begin with. Whatever is giving you a swollen head or pumped-up shoulders is not yours in the real sense of it. It was given to you by God. Is it Money or Wealth that is making you arrogant? Deuteronomy 8:18 makes it clear that it is God that gives you and me the power to create or get wealth. If God has not crowned your efforts with success, there is no amount of labor exerted that would have yielded any result. Is it beauty or handsomeness that has made you as proud as a peacock? Remember you didn't create yourself. So what are you puffed up about? I want you to also remember that a day is coming when wrinkles will appear on that fine face as old age begins to set in. Is it knowledge or Intelli...

The Man, The Time

If a smile would hitch me a ride If a fight could win me a bride If a cry would save ma hideous hide If light could keep this "righteous blind" If a mile would do for the slide If a kite could do the glide Maybe the gentle sky would stem this tumultuous tide Maybe its deceptively alluring sight won't leave me fried If this rising bile would stay deep inside So this delicious bite can be an elixir for my mind Maybe then I could be right and not so wild Perhaps I would then win back my little pride If I could change the hands of time If I could change the fortune of these times But I am the Man that I am, Living the times that I am

Eleven Types of Thinking Skills You Should Develop For Success

1. Critical thinking. This is the analysis of available facts, evidence, observations, and arguments to form a judgment. It includes the rational, skeptical unbiased analysis or evaluation of factual evidence. 2. Creative Thinking. This is the ability to conceive new and innovative ideas by breaking away from established thoughts, theories, rules, and procedures. It involves putting things together in new and imaginative ways. 3. Concrete Thinking. This is the ability to comprehend and apply factual knowledge. It is about thinking of objects and ideas as specific items, rather than as a theoretical representation of a more general concept. It involves thinking on the surface, literal and to the point 4. Abstract Thinking. This is the ability to use concepts to make and understand generalizations, then relate or connect them to other items, events, or experiences. It involves paying attention to the hidden meanings thus allowing you to understand theories and possibilities 5. Divergent ...

FINDING A HUSBAND

Ask an average lady to define her dream husband; First, she will mention "God-fearing" in order not to sound so worldly but then she begins to add worldly requirements like "he has to be tall, handsome, rich, owns a house, has one car at least and be presentable. If you check the number of girls saying this and the number of men that meet that standard, you will see why there is a phrase like "Husband Scarcity". You hear girls say, "I cannot go and suffer in a man's house o." But what if from the beginning, you have everything you want and there is no suffering, but later in the marriage, the table turns around, then comes suffering? Will you run away? No one prays for suffering, but it is better to start small and get big, than start big and get small. The description most ladies give of their ideal man is virtually the same. When many girls want the same kind of men and the men that fit what they want are very few, what becomes of the many other...

YOU CAN'T BUT HAVE HATERS

No one likes to be hated. There is no one that doesn't appreciate being loved. There is this feeling of satisfaction we all get from knowing we are the object of someone's attention and affection. It is such a good and wonderful feeling. However, permit me to burst your balloons right away by telling you the absolute truth. Everybody cannot like you. There are people that do not like you and may never like you till the end of your age. It may bother you to discover that in spite of all your efforts to be good, nice, and well-behaved, some people still don't like you. But fret not, that is how life has been structured. There are those who hate you because of an actual offense. You probably did something to them that earned you their hatred and dislike. There are those who hate you because of a perceived offense. In the eyes of such people, you have done something that is offensive but to you or other reasonable people, it's no big deal. There are those who hate...
